Why Choose Gigglers Day Nursery

Gigglers Day Nursery provides a warm and friendly environment that welcomes every family within our setting. All children are respected and treated as individuals and the leaders in their own leaning. A variety or learning rich activities are planned and provided for your child to support them in achieving statements within the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework.

“Staff plan and provide a broad range of activities based on children’s interests and their next steps in learning. They have a secure understanding of the individual needs of children and observe how children are progressing on a regular basis. This information is used well to complete accurate assessments and identify any gaps in learning. Children who have specific needs are supported well and make good and at times excellent progress due to good partnership working with a range of professionals.”
Gigglers Ofsted Report 2015

The Early Years Foundation Stage Framework (EYFS) is a statutory document that all early years settings up to Key stage one (year one at school) use to track children’s development progress. Our highly trained staff and Pre School Teacher are well equipped with a strong knowledge and understanding of how to support your child and help in preparing them for school learning.

Throughout your child’s time at Gigglers Day Nursery you, as parents and carers, will be part of how and what we plan for your child. Through daily discussions, media, letters and parents events you will be able to contribute and share learning experiences.

At Gigglers Day Nursery, we pride ourselves on our strong community spirit. We actively engage with local schools, churches and businesses. We frequently visit supermarkets to buy our baking ingredients or visit the post office to post letters to home. From September 2015, we are providing Story Parent and Child sessions for under 5’s at our local library.

Throughout the year, our setting celebrates family events such as Mother’s Day and Fathers Mornings, Graduation and Christmas events.

Our staff have got a varied and strong experience with working in the Early Years sector. We ensure that staff working with specific age ranges are well trained in that area and as a result they have a strong understanding of the needs of the children and how to meet them. We can advise and support parents through development milestones such as toilet training, promoting healthy eating habits and transitions to schools. We have a good settling in period procedure for the children and for the parents and have various techniques to support a child settling in to Gigglers.

“Staff are good role models; they frequently praise children and are very respectful and polite towards them”

We follow the regulations on the staff to child ratio as stated by OFSTED but we also have staff members who work on site but are not included in the daily numbers such as the Manager, the Deputy Manager, The Special Educational Needs Co-coordinator and two students. This enables us to provide everything your child needs to a very high standard without compromising on your child’s care.

Giggler’s Day Nursery is equipped to care for your child from 6 weeks to when they are leaving to reception class at school. Throughout this time your child will be cared for and support in their learning to a very high standard.
