Our Rooms

We have three main rooms with in the nursery, the baby room, the toddler room and the pre-school room.

Baby Room
The Baby Room caters for children aged under two years. The room is calming and meets the varying needs of children aged from 6 weeks of age to two.

Complete with its own garden, the babies has continuous access to the outdoor area where they can continue to explore their natural environment. Inside, the room prompts and challenges the use of baby’s senses through the varied and stimulating resources and activities.

Babies are cared for by highly trained and experience staff. After having extensive training on working with babies, the Baby Room team are knowledgeable on all areas concerning development and care for children under the age of two.

“Young children play happily alongside each other and older children have strong friendship groups”

Toddler Room
The Toddler room cares for children aged two to three years. The room is designed to provide your toddler opportunities to promote their independence, self care and natural curiosity.

Language development occurs rapidly for this age range and the team caring for the children in this group are trained in promoting the use of language and identifying technics to support children.

“The development of communication and language skills is a strong focus throughout the nursery. A successful programme to support language skills with children in the toddler room has now been extended to the pre-school children.”

Pre-school Room
Preschool Room is for children aged three years to five years old. The room is based on the whole of the first floor and is designed and equipped to meet the needs and support their learning up until they are ready to leave for reception class.

Gigglers Day Nursery have a clear plan about how we help prepare your child for school. Our Early Years Teacher and highly experienced staff educate your child through play based teaching methods.

Throughout the year we have frequent visitors in to the setting, trips out of nursery and celebrations such as the nursery nativity and school leaver’s party.

“Teaching is consistently good as staff reinforce words with the youngest children, demonstrate how to roll play dough, extend children’s communication and language skills by introducing words such as ‘full’, ‘big’, ‘lift’ and ‘tilt’ and join in their play as a willing ‘hospital patient’.”

“Children from a young age demonstrate good independence skills, particularly those personal skills that will help them as they move to school”

Outdoor Learning
In June 2015, Gigglers Day Nursery successfully completed a beautiful garden extension. The natural garden provides ample space, resources and tools to engage children’s natural curiosities of the world that we live in.

The garden promotes the use of physical development and helps support children’s understanding and awareness of risk taking and keeping themselves safe.

The children at Gigglers benefit from the outdoors daily and we explore the garden in all weathers throughout the year.
